Overview

Erik Schmitt is a Senior Associate at Quill & Arrow with considerable experience in personal injury, construction defect, and in particular, consumer warranty claims under the Song-Beverly Act. Skilled in all aspects of litigation from initial case analysis through post-verdict motion practice, Mr. Schmitt has been first- and second-chair trial counsel in federal and state courtrooms throughout California. Over nearly a decade, Mr. Schmitt has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, with clients ranging from multi-billion dollar corporations to ordinary, everyday people. This wide perspective affords Mr. Schmitt the ability to go toe-to-toe with large vehicle manufacturers on behalf of California consumers.

Mr. Schmitt first earned a bachelor’s degree in film/television from California State University Northridge, specializing in electronic media management, before parlaying into the law. Thereafter, Mr. Schmitt graduated magna cum laude from Southwestern Law School’s SCALE accelerated program, cramming three years of law school into just over 18 months. During that time, he also juggled being a member of Law Review, a Torts research assistant, and a judicial extern for both state and federal judges. Through the lens of having been on both sides of the courtroom, Mr. Schmitt has developed unique insight into how to best represent his clients’ interests.

In his spare time, Mr. Schmitt is a “foodie” that likes to travel and spend time with his wife and 2 dogs.

Mr. Schmitt is admitted to practice law in California and New York.
